- Vibration causes the locking nut on the pressure adjustment screw to loosen, resulting in pressure fluctuations.
- Contaminated hydraulic oil containing fine dust particles prevents the main spool from sliding smoothly, causing irregular pressure changes and occasionally causing the valve to jam.
- Poor sliding of the main spool causes the damping orifice to alternately become blocked and unblocked.
- The conical surface of the main valve spool does not make proper contact with the conical valve seat, indicating insufficient running-in.
- The orifice in the main valve spool is too large, preventing it from providing the intended damping effect.
- The adjustment spring in the pilot valve is bent, causing poor contact between the valve spool and the conical valve seat, resulting in uneven wear.
Solutions:
- Clean the hydraulic oil tank and lines regularly, and filter the hydraulic oil before it enters the tank and line system.
- If filters are already installed in the lines, add a secondary filter element or upgrade the filtration rating of the existing secondary element. Additionally, disassemble and clean the valve components, and replace the hydraulic oil with clean oil.
- Repair or replace defective parts.
- Reduce the diameter of the hydraulic press machine’s damping orifices appropriately.
