The application of band saw machine is very common, in addition to can be used for cutting carbon structural steel, low alloy steel, high alloy just, special alloy steel and stainless steel, acid-resistant steel and other kinds of alloys and metal materials, but also can cut graphite.
Recently, Shanghai ANTS team received an inquiry from a manufacturer of synthetic graphite. The customer needs to cut graphite with the size of 300mmx630mmx1200mm into 50mmx630mmx400mm with the maximum weight up to 500kg. The customer was interested in vertical band saw machine, so according to the customer’s needs, we recommended vertical band saw machine G5140 to the customer.
The maximum cutting height of G5140 is 400mm and throat is 500mm, the table size is 1160*1300mm. So only need to cut the graphite length of 1200mm to 400mm first, and then take 400mm as the height and cut 300mm to 50mm, then it can realize to cut the graphite of 300mmx630mmx1200mm to 50mmx630mmx400mm.
The tensioning method of G5140 is hydraulic and the table moves automatically, which will save a lot of time and labor and improve the working efficiency. Since dust is generated when cutting graphite, we suggested the customer to change the shutter of the band saw machine to a closed one, the cooling method to air cooling, and not to use a chip conveyor, which is meaningless for the dust generated when cutting graphite. This proposal was approved by the customer.
