We recently handled a project for a client in Dominica who specified clear processing requirements for low-carbon steel cylinder production. After benchmarking the technical parameters, the W12-12×2000 CNC four-roll plate bending machine was selected to meet the on-site production needs.

The customer’s actual processing requirements are as follows:
Material: Low-carbon steel (yield strength ≤ 245 MPa)
Plate width: 1828.8 mm
Maximum plate thickness: 12 mm
Rolled cylinder diameter range: 304.8 mm – 2133.6 mm
Based on these requirements, we recommended the W12-12×2000 model and verified its specifications: this four-roll plate bending machine has a maximum rolling thickness of 12 mm, a maximum pre-bending thickness of 8 mm, and a maximum working width of 2000 mm. The customer’s material width of 1828.8 mm is within the machine’s effective working width of 2000 mm, fully meeting the workpiece width requirements.
| Model | W12-12×2000 |
| Upper roll diameter | Φ260mm |
| Bottom roll diameter | Φ240mm |
| Side roll diameter | Φ220mm |
| Maximum rolled plate thickness | 12mm |
| Maximum pre-bending thickness | 8mm |
| Coil Maximum Width | 2000mm |
| Work roll drive form | Upper roll hydraulic motor drive & planetary deceleration |
| Plate Yield Limit | ≤245Mpa |
| Rolling speed | About 4m/min |
| pre-bent remaining straight edge | ≤1.5 times plate thickness |
| Total power of equipment | 7.5KW |
| Rolling capacity (end bending) | T8*B2000*φ420(σs≤245MPa) |
| Rolling capacity (center) | T12*B2000*φ420(σs≤245MPa) |
| Machine dimensions | 4200*1400*1550mm |
| Equipment weight | 6.2T |
The equipment’s rolling capacity is T8×B2000×Φ420 (thickness × width × diameter) at the ends and T12×B2000×Φ420 in the center, with a minimum rolling diameter of Φ420mm. The client’s minimum workpiece diameter is 304.8mm—slightly smaller than the equipment’s theoretical minimum of 420mm—a fact we have communicated to the client; for this specific size, we recommend achieving the diameter through plate pre-bending followed by a secondary rolling pass. The maximum rolling diameter of 2133.6mm is well within the equipment’s capabilities, posing no production issues.
Regarding the low-carbon steel workpieces, we compared the four-roll plate rolling machine (W12-12×2000) with three-roll models. Unlike three-roll machines, which require flipping the plate to pre-bend the second end, the four-roll model allows for pre-bending both ends and rolling the cylinder with a single clamping setup. This eliminates the flipping process and reduces positioning errors associated with re-clamping, resulting in neat butt-welded seams and less post-weld finishing work—making it ideal for batch cylinder production. The W12-12×2000 is fully capable of handling batch production for 12mm-thick, 1828.8mm-wide plates. Only the minimum diameter of 304.8mm requires a secondary rolling step; we have transparently explained these parameter limits to the client from both commercial and technical perspectives to prevent any future misunderstandings. With its excellent pre-bending performance, the four-roll model is highly suitable for overseas orders involving steel structures and storage tank cylinders.
