1. Preparation before machining
Study the drawing: Define the size and accuracy of the gear shaft.
Selection of equipment: Determine the grinding machine according to the specification and precision of the gear shaft.
Preparation of jigs and fixtures: pick the right jigs and fixtures to ensure that the workpiece is positioned and clamped firmly.
Selection of grinding wheels: determine the grinding wheels according to the material, install them correctly and adjust the balance.
Prepare tools: If grooving and other machining is required, install the tools and adjust the position.
Check the blank: check the blank size, hardness, clean the surface burrs.
2. Tool setting and parameter setting
Installation of workpiece: clamp the gear shaft with a jig to ensure that it is coaxial with the grinding machine spindle.
Tool setting: manually or automatically make the grinding wheel close to the workpiece to determine the tool setting point.
Setting parameters: Input wheel speed, feed speed, grinding depth and other parameters in the CNC system to distinguish between rough and fine grinding parameters.
3.Processing
Rough grinding: start the grinder, rough grinding according to the parameters, leaving 0.5 – 1mm allowance for fine grinding.
Measurement: stop the machine to measure the size, and adjust the parameters when the deviation exceeds the limit.
Precision grinding: strictly control the parameters of precision grinding, grinding depth 0.05 – 0.1mm.
4. Post-processing
Dismantle the workpiece: switch off the power, loosen the fixture to take down the gear shaft, prevent from bruising.
Inspection: Comprehensively check the size, shape accuracy and surface roughness.
Cleaning and maintenance: Remove workpiece debris, coolant, and maintain the grinder.
